"It depended on our mood but we did do a lot of car racing games, mostly against each other. Being a Turk is the kind of job where you end up with some pretty extensive driving practice, both to evade being followed or stopped and to be the one following or stopping. Sometimes we would use that to test if the game was built for reality. Fighting games too. And sometimes if we were in the mood for something completly different we'd do something where you run around saving the world."
"Oh yeah, just for something different you'd save the world hey? In between video games?" Tim scoffs, trying to hide the smile at how familiar this kind of talk is to him. He aches to see his friends again, play some video games and save the world on the side.
"I could bring some car racing games over some time?" It's something they could perhaps do together where Tim biting Rude's head off won't feel so venomous.
[McCoy chuckled and sipped his drink, relaxed in front of the fire. It really was such a nice way to spend some time with a friend.]
There's always that, yeah. Learnin ta cook ya say? Do ya need someone ta try ya attempts? Cause I'm more'n happy ta do that anytime. Home cookin's always worth it.
[Did he still work too much? Yes. It was easier to lose himself in work than to think about the glaring hole in his life. It was much better in the day-to-day. Sometimes he actually forgot all about his loss. Time always had that effect thank god. He smiled into his mug.]
Probably, yeah. But I think I'm doin ok. I mean, a little better every day, ya know? Time helps. Friends help more.
Mostly have been making Dorian try it, but it would be nice to have a second opinion. Maybe I should come over to your place and cook for you, try to have it ready by the time you come home from work. Could be an incentive to actually come home.
[Rude doesn't know exactly, he hasn't lost anyone the way McCoy have. But he can certainly sympathise.]
Ya wouldn't mind? I mean, I'm never gonna say no ta somethin like that! That'd be really nice, Rude.
[It could be a little difficult figuring out kitchen times if someone else wanted to cook, but they could work things out. D'Artagnan would be able to eat the food Rude made, too. Same for Delaney. That should count for enough, right?
Rude smiles slightly as well when he spots the way Tim is trying hide the smile. He is familiar with the feelings, he misses Reno, and he is glad Tim and he has some more things to bond over.
"I would like that a lot. I haven't really played games since I got here, it would be nice to do that again."
"Alright, I'll arrange to do that. I don't know if Dorian has spent any time playing games here. It doesn't seem like his kind of thing, but I suppose we can show him?" Tim shrugs.
"I should introduce you to Idia, though. He likes all games and wants to design more of them. Although he likes a lot of those dating ones."
[He made a happy sound at the kiss, leaning into it.]
I'll make sure it's fine. Only good thing about ownin the house, I can say who uses the kitchen ta make us all amazin food. But I don't think anyone's gonna complain.
[ His hands shake as he sends the message, concerned about the man's reaction when he does respond, but knowing that telling him is the right thing to do. ]
I am worried he is going to hurt Dorian, intentionally or not. Or expect too much. They were engaged before. But Dorian told me he doesn't want to be married to anyone.
